The Russian Revolution 1917

September 8th debacle

The debacle involving Russian soldiers in September 1917 refers to the broader breakdown of discipline and morale within the Russian army at that time.
The war effort had taken a heavy toll on the Russian military, leading to widespread desertions, mutinies,
and a general lack of confidence in the government's ability to address the country's problems.

These events ultimately paved the way for the October Revolution, in which the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin,
seized power from the provisional government and established a socialist state in Russia.
The October Revolution marked the end of the Russian Empire and the beginning of the Soviet era.
