Based on coverage in The Illustrated London News, 21 January 1928, this article explores the rediscovery of a gala screening of 'The Black Journey' at the Plaza Theatre, London. The film was a retitled version of the French expedition documentary 'La Croisière Noire' (1926), presented under royal patronage to raise funds for the RNLI. It featured the Prince of Wales, Duke and Duchess of York, and André Citroën among others.
