Later that year, on July 29th 1896, the ILN published another of its special wedding numbers, this time to celebrate the marriage of H.R.H. Princess Maud of Wales to Prince Charles of Denmark on July 22nd in the Private Chapel of Buckingham Palace.

(Appendix List no. 30) Princess Maud was the third daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince Charles was the second son of Frederick, Crown Prince of Denmark by his marriage with Louisa, only daughter of the late King of Sweden and Norway Carl XV. This special number contains long biographical sections on the bride and groom, pictures of the wedding ceremony, wedding presents and the royal bridesmaids and details of Appleton House, Norfolk, the future country home of the couple. The cover of the magazine is blue, yellow, white and brown. It shows photographic portraits of the couple in a large irregular heart-shaped frame topped by a cupid beneath the coats of arms of the bride and groom. The turquoise background is dotted with white and yellow orange blossom. The magazine contains 40 pages, measures 30 x 42 cm and was priced at one shilling. next page >>
