The following year saw another anniversary being celebrated. This was the Silver Wedding of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

(Appendix List no. 18) Dated March 10th 1888 this special double number takes the form of a biographical sketch by Edward Rose in seven chapters as follows: 1. Youth 2. Marriage 3. Work 4. Travel. 5. Illness 6. In India. 7. Home Life. The whole issue is fully illustrated. The front wrapper, in blue and silver, depicts a barge in full sail guided by an allegorical female figure, helped by a cupid, holding the coats of arms of the Prince and Princess. The royal couple are seated in the prow surrounded by flowers, cushions and billowing drapes. The barge has the dates 1863 and 1888 written in silver. The issue has 32 pages, measures 30 x 42 cm and was priced at one shilling. next page >>
